Terms of Service

1. Account Responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your local encryption key. Context Vault uses client-side encryption — your key is generated and stored solely on your device. If you lose this key, we cannot recover your data. We strongly recommend backing up your encryption key in a secure location.

2. Subscription & Payments

The "Pro" plan is billed on a monthly basis. Payments are processed securely via Razorpay. By subscribing, you agree to provide current, complete, and accurate purchase and account information. You are responsible for all charges incurred under your account.

3. Acceptable Use

Context Vault is intended for personal and professional research purposes. You agree not to:

• Use the service for any illegal activities.
• Violate the terms of service of the LLM providers you interact with (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google).
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the encryption mechanisms.
• Use the service to store or transmit malicious content.

4. Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership of all data you store in Context Vault. We claim no intellectual property rights over your conversation history or any content you capture, store, or inject using our tools.

5. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability of our services but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service with reasonable notice. The local vault functionality operates independently and is not affected by server availability.

6. Limitation of Liability

Context Vault is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We are not liable for any data loss resulting from local device failure, loss of encryption keys, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the preceding 12 months.

7. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
